A unique new service is sweeping the area and it comes in a large orange shipping container.

Containers Up unveiled its mobile party bar at last week’s Brew City Cigar Festival at Old Heidelberg Park. The party container is 20 feet long and opens up into a party bar, which features amenities best suitable for parties, weddings and festivals. Read full article.

The concept behind Milwaukee-based Containers Up LLC emerged as a solution to a pressing need for its founders. Tom Daugherty and Lyle Stoflet wanted a place to hold a party, but didn’t want it to be in their homes.

Never those to shy away from building the “weird and unusual,” they created their own party hub out of a 20-by-8-foot shipping container. “We make weird stuff all the time,” Stoflet said. Read full article.

Last summer, two guys from Milwaukee, who co-own a custom furniture and design company, decided they wanted to put their fabrication skills to use to make themselves a bar. But not just any bar.

How cool would it be, they thought, if they could make a bar that could be shipped anywhere they want? What if they made it from an old shipping container? And what if people could rent them for private parties or corporate events? So they did just that. View the full article (PDF).
